On Curiosity, Courage, and Vulnerability

Happy 2019 to everyone. As this new year comes into being, I am reminded of how grateful I am to do what I do for a living. As an aspect of this gratitude, I am consistently reminded of just  how much my clients teach me each day. Yes, I know, people seek out therapists for guidance, knowledge, assistance, support, and even sometimes wisdom.  However, this does not contradict the fact that every day I am also the witness to so much courage and so much wisdom coming from my own couch.

Today was no exception.

Tonight, I was inspired by one of my wise clients to post this talk by Brene Brown. This is a talk on vulnerability, courage, wholehearted people, and people who work to become wholehearted.

Are you curious yet?

I hope so. After all, therapy is really all about curiosity, courage, and vulnerability, which....ironically are all integrated aspects of strength...strength to love and strength to live...to live authentically...to risk rejection...and to risk true love...love of another for sure, but also....love of oneself. So...I hope I have interested you in taking 20 minutes out of your day to listen to Brene Brown. She is indeed a wise woman:-)
