If you don't have time to read the entire article, read Myth #3. And, for those of you without that much time I will tell you the takeaway. Mindfulness is not owned by any one religion or philosophy. Indeed, Mindfulness is a central and core part of Buddhist teachings and has been practiced for over 2600 years. However, this capacity that all humans have to be mindful was discovered by the Buddha for himself. This same capacity of the mind can be discovered and used by all of us, whether we are Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, atheist, or agnostic.
